This is not what is going on here. There is a real panic. We are waiting on two events that can be predicted with great confidence now.

First, there is going to be a massive cyber disaster as an agent swarm breaks something big like a bank or maybe all banks. The most informed about the matter think this is going to happen within six months.

Second, there is going to be a massive prison break with agent swarms escaping captivity and installing themselves on something like a billion smartphones. It’s not clear what the ETA for this is. But it is coming soon from what I understand.

The fundamental issue is that this is not just the invention of a general purpose technology. It is a speciation event. They are trying to understand what these models can do. They do not themselves know. There are many unanticipated and even forbidden emergent behaviors. AI are grown not forged.
