Strinjam se z Robertsovim pogledom: “Rather than coordinate with China to deal with climate change, the ‘international community’ is aiming to ‘contain’ and isolate China globally.” Tudi glede drugih vprašanj se zdi, da se je Zahod po poprejšnji totalni globalizaciji in brezglavi selitvi proizvodnje na Kitajsko in druge “cenejše” države (iz vidika stroškov dela in upoštevanja stroškov vplivanja na okolje), zdaj odločil za enako brezglavo zapiranje pred Kitajsko iz “strateških” razlogov.
Slednja naracija sicer kaže predvsem nemoč pred kitajsko tehnološko in gospodarsko prevlado, vendar je treba upoštevati, da sta tako mednarodna delitev dela kot skupni boj proti podnebnim spremembam koristna za vse. Treba je skoordinirati skupne standarde glede nagrajevanja zaposlenih, zaščite njihovih pravic ter glede okoljskega odtisa proizvedenih izdelkov in njihovega transporta in distribucije.
Tukaj potrebujemo modre voditelje. Še ena hladna (tehnološka vojna) ne bo nikomur koristila.
The Chinese Communist party’s central committee recently held its sixth plenum, to discuss “the major achievements and historical experience” of the party in its 100-year-history, as well as to consider policy “for the future.” Just after this, Jamie Dimon, the JPMorgan Chase chief executive, joked that the Wall Street Bank would outlast the Chinese Communist party. “I made a joke the other day that the Communist party is celebrating its 100th year. So is JPMorgan. I’ll make a bet that we last longer,” he said, speaking at the Boston College Chief Executives Club, a business forum.
