Ameriška odločitev, da odobri prodajo Nvidiinih čipov H200 na Kitajsko, je pri kitajskih oblasteh naletela na gluha ušesa – kitajska vlada je takoj prepovedala uvoz Nvidiinih čipov. Hkrati je ameriška odločitev časovno zelo nerodna, saj je skoraj sočasno kitajsko podjetje Zhipu AI predstavilo napreden večmodalni model GLM-Image, ki je bil v celoti razvit na domači tehnologiji. Model je treniran izključno na strojni opremi Huawei Ascend in z uporabo ogrodja MindSpore, brez ameriških čipov, programske opreme ali razvojnih orodij. To predstavlja pomemben prelom, saj kaže, da Kitajska danes zmore razvijati konkurenčne, odprtokodne modele umetne inteligence brez odvisnosti od ameriškega tehnološkega ekosistema, kar je bilo prav nasprotno od ciljev ameriških sankcij.
GLM-Image je model z visoko praktično vrednostjo, zlasti pri generiranju besedila in kitajskih pismenk, kjer zahodni modeli še vedno zaostajajo. Ključno sporočilo ni, ali model presega vse konkurente, temveč dejstvo, da Kitajska obvladuje celotno tehnološko verigo – od čipov do programske opreme in znanja. Sankcije so tako pospešile razvoj domačih rešitev in privedle do točke, ko so te »dovolj dobre«, da trajno pretrgajo tehnološko odvisnost. V tem kontekstu ameriška pozna odobritev izvoza ne deluje več kot vzvod nadzora, temveč kot odziv na proces, ki se je že zaključil. Vprašanje ni več, ali lahko Kitajska razvija napredno umetno inteligenco brez ameriških čipov, temveč kako hitro se bo temu vzorcu prilagodil širši globalni ekosistem.
Jensen Huang, ustanovitelj in direktor Nvidiije, je takrat po začetku Trumpove trgovinske vojne in prepovedi izvoza njegovih čipov na Kitajsko v nekaj sekundah dojel, da s tem ameriškim ukrepom njegova Nvidia ni samo izgubila nekaj ali nekaj deset procentov prodaje na Kitajskem, pač pa, da je v celoti izgubila nekaj milijardni kitajski trg. Game over.

This matters because US sanctions were meant to slow China and lock in dependency. Instead, they’ve done the opposite. Despite years of export controls and pressure, China has now publicly proven that high-quality, open-source multimodal AI no longer needs US silicon.
And this isn’t a toy. GLM-Image delivers industry-leading performance among open-source models for text rendering and excels at Chinese character generation — something Western, English-first models still struggle with. It may trail ByteDance’s proprietary models, but that’s beside the point. This is about who controls the stack, not who tops a benchmark.
So when the US finally says, “We’ll allow limited H200 exports,” Beijing’s response is effectively: no thanks. Imports reportedly blocked. Approvals “exceptional.” Translation: China is done building its future around American permissions.
This isn’t anti-Nvidia. It’s post-Nvidia. Sanctions forced a full-stack rebuild — chips, frameworks, tooling, talent — and once domestic systems hit “good enough,” dependency breaks for good.
Approving the H200 now doesn’t look like control. It looks like turning up late to a door that’s already closing. The question isn’t whether China can do advanced AI without US chips — that’s been answered. The real question is how fast the rest of the ecosystem follows.

2) Trump says Greenland needs to be “in the hands of the UNITED STATES” because “NATO would not be an effective force or deterrent – Not even close!” (https://x.com/WhiteHouse/status/2011476193732645080?s=20). Which is also objectively bullshit given that the U.S. is in NATO… Unless he implies article 5 is now null and void.
4) And now Russia is saying that it is “seriously concerned” about the heightened NATO military presence in Greenland. Which is honestly fair: additional NATO deployment on their northern border is objectively a security concern for them.
The end result is this sad irony: Greenland is now a legitimate point of Russian-NATO tension where none existed before Trump started his threats of annexation.
By responding to a fictional Russian danger with actual NATO military buildup, NATO leaders have created the very security concern they claimed to be addressing.
It’s almost impressively incompetent. Or maybe deliberately manufactured, which is just as bad.
Greenland is shaping up to be another masterclass in self-fulfilling prophecy and stunningly incompetent Western foreign policy.

Kakorkoli to imenujete – “intelektualna neresnost” ali “intelektualna podhranjenost” – ima ta intelektualni deficit katastrofalno resne realne posledice. Ko v času krize, države vodijo nekompetentni politiki, iz tega sledi dizaster. To smo videli v času finančne krize in dolgega desetletja stagnacije kasneje. Toda če v času stoletne multikrize, ko se spojijo konkurenčni, tehnološki, podnebni, energetski in geopolitični krizni valovi, države vodijo absolutno nekompetentni politiki z intelektualnim deficitom, iz tega sledi ne samo geopolitični zaton, pač pa civilizacijski zaton Evrope.
Najhuje pa je, da imamo tako močno intelektualno podhranjene politike, da bodo s cenzuro in represijo “inteligentnim ljudem prepovedali razmišljati, da ne bi užalili imbecilov” (izjava se pripisuje Fjodorju Dostojevskemu).

Only a few governments, like Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, are still acting with any realism.
The rest of Europe is sleepwalking into a wider war.

Notri je ves arzenal ameriških akcij glede Irana. Zanimivo je tudi zadnje poglavje, kako javnost pripraviti na nujnost posredovanja v Iranu. Seveda to vključuje aktivacijo mainstream medijev. Praktično ne mine dan, da ne bi v medijskih ali političnih izjavah prebral kaj na temo zelenega prehoda in oskrbe z elektriko iz obnovljivih virov (OVE). To je uradna usmeritev Evropske Unije ter seveda tudi Slovenije in njej so podrejeni vsi energetski načrti in tudi razmišljanja. Namen takšne usmeritve naj bi bila skrb za okolje, za trajnostni razvoj, kar je nedvomno pohvalno. V tej skrbi in zavzetosti pa vsi pisci ter tudi ključni akterji našega energetskega prehoda pogosto zanemarjajo dejanske razmere in realne možnosti.
Preberemo lahko na primer informacijo, da pridobivajo Norvežani že vso elektriko iz obnovljivih virov, kar se potem razume kot usmeritev tudi za Slovenijo. Seveda ni dodan podatek, da zaradi naravnih danosti Norveška pridobi kar 87 % vse elektrike iz vode. S takšno možnostjo je Norveška druga država na svetu (prvi Paragvaj s 100 % hidro oskrbo), naslednja Kanada okoli 60 %. Takšna primerjava nima torej nobene realne podlage, a zagovorniki OVE jo pač navedejo. Ne bodo pa napisali, da je Nemčija v obnovljive vire (sonce, veter) vložila primerjalno s Slovenijo 18 milijard evrov, rezultat pa dvakrat višja cena elektrike ter 10-krat več CO2 izpustov kot Francija z visokim deležem jedrske energije.
Bi bila to pot za Slovenijo? Verjetno se hitro strinjamo, da ne – a snovalce našega energetskega načrta to ne ovira, da iščejo rešitve bolj na nemški način.
