Na spodnjem spisku seveda manjka cel kup vrhunskih objektivnih analitikov, kot so John Mearsheimer, Stephen Walt, Glenn Diesen, Chris Hedges, Judge Napolitano, Moon of Alabama itd., predvidevam, da zato, ker so pretežno osredotočeni na rusko – ukrajinski konflikt. Vendar pa se spisek dokaj tesno ujema z mojim glede ameriško – izraelsko – iranskega konflikta. Pri čemer bi bil moj vrstni red drugaačen – na vrh bi dal Policy Tensor, Trito Parsi in Rosemary Kelanic.
Najbrž ste opazili, da na spisku. ni nobenih “analitikov” iz mainstream medijev, kar seveda pove vse o kvaliteti poročanja in analitičnega komentiranja teh aktualnih konfliktov v mainstream medijih in čigavim interesom – namesto objektivnosti poročanja – ti mediji dejansko služijo.
During the Iran War and broader regional conflicts that overlap, one of the greatest challenges I have found on social media is identifying who can produce unbiased, accurate, and honest analysis of ongoing events. As a benefit to my followers, I want to take some time today to highlight some of the people and accounts that I highly value, and why I value them. Beyond anything else, what should be valued is who is CORRECT, regardless of whether or not you “like” what is being said.
Frankly… I’d probably put Danny up there with just about anyone when it comes to their analysis of this conflict from start to finish. Given that Danny was the Israeli Defense Intelligence’s head of the Iran Division… Pretty safe to say he knows what he is talking about. Don’t make the mistake of reading the word “Israel” and discounting. His analysis is not pushing a narrative.
Top notch, DEEPLY nuanced understanding of Iran. Knew this war would be a disaster, spoke out about it, and is now fighting back against the neocons. Balanced. Nuanced. And ACCURATE.
I think the record speaks for itself here. In the initial days of his resignation as the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, he received a lot of heat… and then literally everything he said turned out to be 100% accurate. Joe has IMMENSE regional knowledge, and is particularly valuable as the Ansarallah/Houthi events of the past days accelerates.
She is first and foremost a realist in my mind, which is something I value immensely. What you “want” does not equal what you can “actually achieve”. Rosemary serves as the Middle East Director at Defense Priorities, and has her PhD in Political Sciences from University of Chicago.
Alan was one of the lead negotiators of the JCPOA, and has some of the most extensive understanding of the Persian culture and people of anyone I have seen. Alan is fluent in Persian, and was the State Department’s first Persian Language Spokesperson. In a conflict that is in many ways a cesspool of ideology and bias, Alan does an exceptional job of helping people to UNDERSTAND the Iranians.
I simply do not care if you “like” Trita or not. His analysis and expertise throughout this conflict speaks for itself. He has been overwhelmingly accurate. Trita holds his PhD from Johns Hopkins in International Relations, alongside two different Masters degrees from Stockholm and Uppsala. Trita now serves as the Executive Vice President at the Quincy Institute.
Esfandyar is an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins, and has IMMENSE expertise as it relates to the Iranian economy, as well as sanctions and economic warfare. This is of course extremely important in a conflict that, at its core, is all about economic warfare and the Iranian economy’s resiliency and adaptation. Just this past week, Yar published a piece in Foreign Affairs titled, “Why America Can’t Strangle Iran”, that examined Iran’s ability to adapt to the US blockade and overall economic warfare campaign. He is better than I am, and I have no ego-hit from saying such.
We all know Rory, right? Rory has been one of the most important “educators” on the rapidly evolving energy markets throughout the Iran War and has gone above and beyond to ensure that accurate information and analysis is being conveyed to the masses. He is Canadian, which is unfortunate, but it also makes for very entertaining listening when he speaks in his funny accent.
The best in the biz. Hands down. If you’re looking for data on energy flows out of the Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, Ol’ Bab’s, or the region as a whole, there simply is no one better. While they have received some unfounded blowback in recent days, they have consistently called out inaccurate data from the Trump Administration throughout the conflict. The track record speaks for itself.
Similar to Rory, but American, so inherently better. Sal is an Associate Professor at Campbell University, and an Adjunct at the US Merchant Marine Academy. The good sir holds his Masters in Maritime History and Nautical Archaeology (that’s… specific…), and his PhD in Military and Naval History from the University of Alabama. Roll Tide or something I guess. Point being… yeah, fairly strong credentials there for this war…
I’ve highlighted Connell multiple times before, but I really do need to once again highlight the importance of someone in the mainstream media (NewsNation) that provides Center-leaning news. Throughout this conflict, we have seen “other” news outlets push narratives, highlight people who have repeatedly proven incorrect, and attempt to position themselves with or against the Trump Administration. I can’t begin to tell you HOW LITTLE I care about “personality news”. Tell me the information, give me honest data, bring on credible experts from all viewpoints, and then let ME determine my own conclusion. This is what Connell does, and this is why NewsNation is the only TV news that I will watch. Credibility MATTERS.
The IQ on this guy borders on the offensive. No man, you can’t have deep knowledge on 42 topics, that’s just not fair to the rest of us. Anusar is highly active on X, frequently responsive to comments on his posts, and has genuinely astounding levels of insights and expertise made publicly available. He, much like myself, does not seem to have a particular dog in the fight. When things go well for Iran, he highlights such. When things go well for the US, he also highlights this. That is what we SHOULD be doing. Nobody should care about what someone “wants” in this war, they should care about REALITY. Anusar delivers.
