Od neposrednega provociranja Kitajske glede zavzetja Tajvana je ameriška administracija kvazi prešla na partnerski odnos s Kitajsko tudi na vojaški ravni. Seveda gre zgolj za spremembo retorike, saj ZDA Kitajsko še vedno vidijo kot edinega tekmeca, ki lahko Ameriko zamenja glede globalne dominacije in v tem okviru strateškega sovražnika v Aziji glede statusa Tajvana (ki je ameriška tovarna čipov) in Južnokitajskega morja kot glavne plovne poti med Azijo in Evropo. Toda ko so v Trumpovi administraciji ugotovili, da Kitajske ne morejo trgovinsko premagati (da jih Kitajska strateško drži za vitalni organ pri redkih zemljah) in ko so ugotovili, da bi Kitajska zmagala v vojni okrog Tajvana (ker so ameriške letalonosilke neuporabne v času v sodobnih vojaških tehnologij), je pač pragmatično spremenila retoriko. Volk dlako menja, nravi pa nikoli.

They have made a complete 180 degree pivot from their hawkish China tweets and threats and have realized the US has no other option BUT to work with China.

For years we’ve heard this endless propaganda that “China is the biggest threat to the US” but almost overnight, media outlets like Bloomberg, the Atlantic, Financial Times are all publishing positive stories on China.

Trump and his cabinet are now saying it is a G2 world! This means end of unipolarity and welcome to a world where the US and China are equals, the two biggest superpowers in the world.

This is fantastic! For years I’ve promoted a closer US China relationship and fought against the aggressive anti-China hawks like @TomCottonAR and @Jkylebass and countless others who promote war and have such a shallow analysis and understanding of China.

The only future for our world is one where the US and China work together for the future of mankind. I’m so happy to see this pivot and Trump and his team make this turnaround! Huge win for the world.
